POD Challenge Rules:
1. Each challenge will last for approximately 15 days (I will announce the dates the challenge goes through).
2. Entry fee is $10 per challenge. Payments must be in by the fifth day of the challenge otherwise your picks will be frozen
3. The challenge will be judged on most units earned.
4. Each pick made is based off a 1 unit value. Units are risked and awarded based off the odds you make your pick on. Any time you make a pick with favorable odds (has a negative sign); you are risking a certain amount of units to gain 1 unit (Ex. Your selection has odds of -120; you will risk 1.2 units to win 1 unit). Any time you make a pick that is an underdog (has a positive sign); you are risking 1 unit to win a higher amount of units (Ex. Your selection has odds of +300; you risk 1 unit to win 3 units). Here is an example if this is confusing:
A vs. B for 10 days
A: The underdog bettor. A selects 10 games all at +200 odds. So for each game A risks 1 unit to win 2 units.
B: The favorite bettor. B selects 10 games all at -150 odds. So for each game B risks 1.5 units to win 1 unit.
B goes 9-1. Nine wins= +9 units. One loss= -1.5 units. Net gain of +7.5 units
A goes 6-4. Six wins=+12 units. 4 losses= -4 units. Net gain of +8 units
A would win the challenge since A has more units than B. Even though B picked more winners and had a better win %. Basically with this scoring you are awarded for correctly picking underdogs. This is the way it should be since picking underdogs has a lot higher degree of difficulty than just selecting the favorites.
5. The maximum earning for a pick is 5 units.
6. You are allowed ONE pick per day. If you choose, you may pass any days you would like. A minimum requirement of 10 picks per challenge is needed to qualify for being in the money.
7. Use www.sportsbook.com for your odds.
8. Sports to bet on are as follows: NBA, MLB, NFL, NHL, CBB, CFB, Soccer (EPL, UEFA Champions, Spanish Primera, Italian Serie A, German Bundesliga, MLS), and other MAJOR events (must be agreed upon in the forum before bets are allowed)
9. Picks must be a money line, spread, or over/under. You cannot buy points.
10. Cannot make picks that have odds worse than -165
11. You cannot duplicate anyone else’s picks made previous to you.
12. Once your pick is posted, you cannot take it back. If your pick is posted incorrectly (wrong odds or you change it) you will be given a fine of -1 units for that day.
13. Tie Breakers: First tie breaker goes to who selected most winners during the challenge. Second tie breaker is a pick off. After a challenge is complete and there is still a tie, your next pick (1st pick of following challenge) will be your “tie break selection.” This goes until there is a winner.
14. Every Tuesday, you are given the choice to double your wager (you can choose between risking 1 and 2 units). The maximum of 5 units per pick still applies.
